The Bad and the Beautiful, Barcelona!

Wow, I am infatuated with this city–so much art, architecture and history. I find the people more reserved than I thought the Spanish would be. Not very much PDA going on at all. I love the language–trying hard to learn as much as possible.
The good: so much–tapa bars everywhere, gorgeous buildings warm climate! The funniest thing was the hotel elevator. The door opens on the floor with the gym and I try in vain to exit. At the same time twenty Indian guests decide to enter. I have to hold my arms in the air to make myself as skinny as possible and shout “let me out!” It was almost impossible to get out. I found the whole experience hilarious. The bad: the massive police take down on the subway. They closed it and about 100 cops came and tossed a few black men like rag dolls from the subway and removed sacks and sacks of evidence. It was horrific to watch as one of the black men they tossed seemed very injured or ill.

Pics are from our very first evening in Barcelona. They are all from the La Rambla area.
