Othello Tunnels, Coquihalla Canyon, BC: Biking the KVR
I spent this year’s birthday on a bike trip with my family (my eldest daughter Mist, couldn’t come as she had to work. Though, she celebrated with us in the evening at a picnic enjoying an outdoor opera).
We drove to Hope, BC and explored the Othello Tunnels along the Coquihalla Gorge. The scenery was spectacular: turquoise mountain rivers, steep rock gorges, thick moss and fern covered forests.
The tunnels were amazing. If you follow my blog, you know I’m a big fan of Kettle Valley Railway history and also of hiking and biking along the abandon trail lines. Exploring the Othello Tunnels was on my unofficial bucket list.
We biked through the tunnels and continued along a forest trail and then down to the rocky beach of the river below, where we had a picnic. It was the perfect day, surrounded by nature. I hope you enjoy the pics of our bike trip:
