Band or Bust

Pip on her bunk bed.

Last night, driving to Mist’s band concert, I had to listen to her moan about how she didn’t want to go, “band concerts are BORING!…” By the time we arrived, she had talked me out of even wanting to go. So, when I discovered Pip asleep in the back of the van, I volunteered to take her home to bed and come back and get Mist and her Dad when the concert ended. Of course, Peter resisted “I should be the one going home, I have homework.”
“Yes, but I thought you’d want to stay as you’ve never even attended one of her concerts.” He was silent. I drove home with Tabs and Pip.
Tabs has taken to wearing one of her dad’s ties to school each day. She changes to a new one each day. I asked her why the new fashion statement and she said, “because I look good in them.”–true enough!
Tonight Tabs has Piano. Pip and I are going on a little shopping trip to buy me a new electric kettle as mine died from over use–I’m a tea maker extraordinaire.
I am hopeful that I can leave tomorrow’s Spring Fair at Tabs school early so I can still get in my Friday sport and date with Peter. Last Friday we biked–that might be nice to repeat.
Class Saturday. I find the last few classes excruciating–I’m so ready to move on.
Rethinking my thesis option–I’ve given myself until September to nail one down officially.
I feel a little in limbo–I want to jump ahead and start working on my own projects (web site, book illustrations) but mentally I feel like I can’t start them until I officially wrap up my class next Saturday. It’s because my mind is focused on the presentation to come and delivering my papers–even though I am actually finished all the writing and prep parts.
