Big Woman on Campus

Today was go to work with your parents day at Mistaya’s school. She chose hanging out with her dad at UBCO. I can’t imagine why. I thought for sure she’d want to sit down in my office beside me and watch me type on the computer all day 😉

She hasn’t arrived home yet so I’m not sure of all of the details but I did talk with her on the phone and she attended one of her Auntie Miranda’s classes, had sushi for lunch and loves her dad’s new office.
Tabs is at choir. Pip and I have been preparing a feast for the Klironomos’. John’s Greek parents from Montreal are visiting M & J and I am having all of them for supper tonight. My specialty Mexican feast:  chicken enchilada’s, sautéed peppers, corn and zucchini and a salad with mango and avocado, with double chocolate cake for dessert. The cake is all eggs, cream and chocolate , very little flour. With a pecan, chocolate crumb and raspberry jam crust. I’ve made it before and it is YUM! pip is a little tired and cranky today–too much Halloween.

Met my friend Amanda for supper last night. We went to Cactus Club. It was great to get out and catch up with Amanda again. I’ve known her for ten years now–ever since I first moved to Kelowna.

Will start my study next Monday. Excited about that. It will be great to get my degree over with! I am so ready to start painting and writing and teaching. I am still reediting my first novel. It is going well. I love that book.

Went to Red with Peter. A whole lot of big guns and blowing people up.
Friday I am volunteering on a field trip with Tabs class and Pip has skating again. The teacher told me to buy her new skates as hers are too big and holding her back. I knew it, but was ever hopeful thinking “most people learned to skate in too big skates.” I did attempt to buy her smaller ones but she kept saying that they hurt. Time for traditional figure skates I suppose.
