Hot New Vancouver Trend: Public Reading

Hipsters are keeping their cell phones in their pockets and reaching for a good book!

I spent the weekend before last in Vancouver–we picked up my eldest daughter from UBC and bringing her back to the Okanagan for her reading break. Her boyfriend was heading back to the Shuswap at the same time so we convoyed home along the Coquihalla.

A highlight of the weekend was hiking in Lynn Canyon and crossing the suspension bridge. We’d been before, a few years ago, and had to return as the area is spectacularly beautiful. My middle daughter Tabs was not feeling well so she stayed behind at the hotel while we explored the trails.

I spent the first 2 years of my life living in North Vancouver, very close to Lynn canyon, so perhaps this is one of the reasons that I am so in love with the lush rainforest!

I hope you enjoy the photo essay of our time in the Lynn Canyon rain forest:

Mist and Pip–fearless gals. Mist has such a calm, zen presence–I adore her company.
