Orchids Gone Wild: Okanagan Wild Flowers
I have to share a peek at the wild orchids that grace my front yard this spring, 2016. Each year, my secret patch of wild orchids grows by a few blossoms—this year there are 15 wild orchids blooming! Who says I can’t garden? The truth is, wild orchids do not like to be disturbed so I leave gardening up to Earth and she does amazing work.
Nobody sees a flower really; it is so small. We haven’t time, and to see takes time—like to have a friend takes time.

The pictures below make it obvious to see why the Okanagan First Nations refer to this orchid as “moccasins.”
