I found this creature in my kitchen last night, just before we were about to sit down for supper. The creature had a note on top of it (see note in picture above). The note says:
Baby Balouga (Beluga)
treat her nicely and name her
and don’t put her in water
because she got bit by a sarck (shark)
I named her Salia after the West Coast Aboriginal people (the Salish). She was feeling perky enough to eat her supper of lemon chicken, broccoli and rice.
We have followed her instructions and not put her in water; however, I think it is only a matter of time until she forgets about the shark and longs to splash in the waves once again. She’ll have to have a bath sometime this week!
Pip is always full of fun surprises. Our house has become a safe haven for a menagerie of exotic animal pets and monsters. The baby beluga seemed to appear out of thin air. Pip must remember our visit to see the real baby beluga at Vancouver aquarium a few years ago.
